She was not sure on how to act – she always thought wine tasting was all about cheering and drinking wine. She observed the man next to her out of the corner of her eye, miming his gestures: he first swirled the wine by holding the glass stem, then he dove his nose over the brim to smell the inside, then he swirled again, and smelled, swirled and smelled one last time before bringing the beverage to reach the lips – here we go – but just a flimsy sip to swish around the mouth, then he swallowed it, clicked his tongue on the palate a couple of times and, under her astonished eyes, threw away the rest of his wine in a bucket on the table.
